Neocortex Main Character [Freelance Work]

For the Neocortex.link web, I was responsible for creating the main 3D character that serves as the visual and interactive anchor of the platform’s user experience.

Project Goal & Context
Neocortex.link is a web-based tool designed to help users explore and visualize complex conceptual relationships through an intuitive, spatial interface.

Character Design & Implementation
The central 3D character was crafted to embody the interface’s ethos: approachable, dynamic, and human-centric. I developed the model to function not only as a visual centerpiece but also as an interactive guide within the tool’s spatial environment. This included:

1. Color sheet of the concept design (previously made by Maxim Emeliyanov) oriented around user engagement and visual clarity.
2. High-quality modeling and texturing optimized for real-time web rendering.
3. Rigging and animation tailored for both storytelling and interactive responsiveness. This included also ARKit blendshapes and custom bones to use DynamicBones inside Unity.

Throughout the process, I balanced artistic expression with technical constraints to ensure the model performed smoothly across browsers and devices.

ARKit Functionality
In addition to the web deployment, the character was prepared for augmented reality interaction via ARKit. Preparing the model for ARKit involved optimizing mesh density and configuring animation triggers. This enabled:

1. Context-aware animations triggered by user movement and viewpoint.
2. A seamless blend between the digital character and physical space to enhance user immersion.

Technical Stack & Workflow Highlights
1. 3D modeling and texturing in industry-standard tools.
2. Export and optimization for web-GL environments.
3. ARKit integration through AR-ready asset preparation and interactive scripting.

I hope you like this and that this breakdown it's clear enough to see all the work and process behind the final result. If you're interested in a character/creature or 3D Environment, you can send me an email so we can talk your ideas and made real your projects. I'm open to full-time and freelancer tasks.
